North African students currently pursuing a Ph.D. program at the University may benefit from the scholarship program.
The Ezera Fellowship Program gives preference to qualified West African Ph.D. students who have demonstrated great potential for research in the social sciences, humanities, and public policy.
Funds for interviews, travel, or research expenses may be requested as needed to support research prior to completion of the Ph.D. program and to enhance the quality of work in Africa;
The value of the scholarship is $1,000.
To be admitted, candidates must meet all of the requirements listed below:
Students must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the University of California, Berkeley;
Students who apply are expected to demonstrate an interest in furthering the African Studies Fellowship;
Successful candidates must be African, with a preference for those from West Africa;
Students must be admitted to the University of California, Berkeley.
